Ground Report | New Delhi: Reopen Kartarpur Corridor; Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi has appealed to the Central Government to reopen the Kartarpur Corridor. Appealing to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said, "I again appeal to Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji to open the Kartarpur Corridor on the holy occasion of Prakash Parv of Guru Nanak Dev this month. Minister Amit Shah has written a letter to both of them demanding permission for the pilgrims to go to Pakistan for Gurdwara Sri Darbar Sahib.

Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu also visited Dera Baba Nanak in Gurdaspur district on the occasion of the second anniversary of the commencement of the Kartarpur Corridor. From this place, pilgrims visit Kartarpur Sahib located in the Narowal district of Punjab province of Pakistan.

Sidhu said, "I was just a postman of Baba Nanak who gave his message and the Kartarpur corridor was opened." After visiting the historic Gurdwara with the help of binoculars, Sidhu prayed there and said, "I prayed to Baba Nanak to reopen the corridor. I seek his blessings again because it was because of his power that this corridor was opened." "

He said that 75% of the people who come to the place of darshan do not have passports. Every day about five thousand people come here for prayers. A year and a half ago, the Land Port Authority had promised to build an elevated platform so that people of the community can have a darshan of Kartarpur Gurdwara Sahib. It is my request to the Home Minister of India that he should give this compatible platform.

"I will write to the Center about this that if there is any problem, they can tell the state government. I guarantee you that the Punjab government will work on it on priority." "There should be four to five binoculars. We want the corridor to remain open. If for some reason it is kept closed, the darshan space should be kept open to everyone for open darshan of Kartarpur Sahib."

On the occasion of the second anniversary of the Kartarpur Corridor, Pakistan's Prime Minister Imran Khan has also given a statement.

Imran Khan said, "Today is the second anniversary of the Kartarpur Corridor. This corridor of religious harmony provides a special way for the people of the Sikh community of India to visit one of the most sacred places of their religion. Shows my government's commitment to religious harmony."

“We are showing this commitment at a time when we are witnessing the systematic repression of Kashmiris, Indian Muslims, and other minorities by the Hindutva-minded BJP government of India. The biggest obstacle to peace in our region today This is the attitude of the Government of India."
