PUBG may get a ban in India, 275 more Chinese apps in the list

Government is thinking to ban 275 more Chinese apps which also includes PUBG, a very popular gaming app in India.

Government is thinking to ban 275 more Chinese apps which also includes Player Unknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG), a very popular gaming app in India. Earlier, the government banned 59 Chinese apps concerning the data security of the country, which included very popular apps in India like TikTok, Shareit, UC Browser, Cam Scanner and many more. On Monday, the government has banned 47 Chinese apps that were the clones of the earlier banned apps. Now, the total number of Chinese apps banned India is raised to 106.

This time the Ministry of Electronics and Information and Technology has banned apps like TikTok Lite, Helo Lite, Shareit Lite, Bigo Live Lite and 43 more apps like this. 

Chinese apps targeted

Meanwhile, 225 more Chinese apps have targeted by the central government. With the Chinese apps, they include PUBG, Xiaomi's Zili and Alibaba Group's AliExpress.

PUBG game is developed by the South Korean video game company called Bluehole in which Chinese company Tencent holds a considerable amount of share. 

PUBG holds around 175 million downloads alone in India, which is a huge number. It is not only popular in India but in other countries too, but it is very famous in India as compared to other countries.

India-China land dispute

The ban on the Chinese apps started after the increase in tension between India and China over a land dispute, and the measures taken after Indian soldiers martyred in a fight between the two countries.

The share of Chinese companies in India is huge as the market in India is very large, and after the ban on such Chinese apps may reduce Chinese shares from the Indian market.

India has nearly 300 million users in China's Internet companies. According to an estimate, two-thirds of smartphone users in the country use the Chinse app. Among all the Chinese apps in InidPUBG has the largest market in India.
