Ground Report | New Delhi: PM Modi addresses the nation; Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation. "Don't worry about Omicron, but be careful," Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in his address to the nation, Vaccination for children aged 15-18 to begin from January 3.

PM Narendra Modi said India has 18 lakh isolation beds, 5 lakh oxygen supported beds, 1.40 lakh ICU beds, 90,000 pediatric ICU & non-ICU beds. We have more than 3,000 working PSA oxygen plants, 4 lakh oxygen cylinders have been distributed throughout the nation. (PM Modi addresses the nation)

PM Modi further said "Realising the seriousness of COVID19, today more than 141 crore doses have been administered in India. More than 90% eligible population has been vaccinated with the first dose of vaccine".

Talking about the country's preparedness against COVID-19, he said: "Today, the country has 18 lakh isolation beds, 5 lakh oxygen supported beds, 1.4 lakh ICU beds and 90,000 special beds for children. Today We have more than 3,000 functional PSA oxygen plants and 4 lakh cylinders have been provided to all the states."

He has stressed that citizens need to be vigilant in view of the COVID situation.

PM Modi, 'Precaution' dose for healthcare workers, front line workers, and those above 60 years of age with co-morbidities, from January 10.

India started vaccination to its citizens from January 16 this year. It is the collective effort and collective will of all the citizens of the country that today India has crossed the unprecedented and very difficult target of 141 crore vaccine doses."

PM Modi further added "Today, many countries are facing the threat of omicron. In India too many people have been found infected with omicron. I would urge all of you not to panic, be careful and be alert. Masks and washing hands frequently. Take heed of these things."
