PM Johnson should talk to PM Modi on farmer movement: British MP

Britain's Sikh MP Tanmanjit Singh Dhesi has said that preparations for Boris Johnson's visit to India have been completed, so he will soon get a letter from the opposition parties asking him to clear his stand on India's peasant movement and There will be a demand to raise this issue in front of the Indian Prime Minister for a quick solution.

Tanmanjeet Singh tweeted a video in English and Punjabi, saying, "We had come to know that preparations for the visit of UK Prime Minister Johnson to India in January have been completed, so we want them to discuss these issues during this visit Pick it up. "

In the video, Tanmojit Singh Tessi, MP from Slao, UK, said that many residents and others of his area contacted him and expressed concern about the ongoing peasant movement in India and asked him to contact the British government.

He said that even before this he had written a letter to the UK Foreign Minister, after which he talked to his counterpart Indian Foreign Minister S Jaishankar about this.

Tanmanjeet Singh told in the video, “In view of the appeal of the people, there were some meetings in October and November and I was asked to prepare a letter. Dozens of UK MPs signed the letter. We brought it to the Foreign Minister of Britain. I am glad that Foreign Minister Dominic Raab accepted our appeal and conveyed our point to the Foreign Minister of India. ”

He further said, "On 9 December, I raised this issue with Prime Minister Boris Johnson in the House of Commons of the British Parliament, but unfortunately he did not understand that question properly. Therefore, a letter has been prepared, furthering this, which I will convey to the Prime Minister of Britain to convey our concerns and feelings to the Prime Minister of India that everyone has every right to perform in a peaceful manner. ”

He hoped that this whole issue would be dealt with as soon as possible. He also appealed to UK residents to contact their MPs and write letters or emails, instead of contacting them, so that they agreed to the matter and put their signatures on that letter.
