People of Indian origin are increasing in America: Joe Biden

US President Joe Biden has said that 'the dominance of the American people of Indian origin has increased in the country.'

US President Joe Biden has said that 'the dominance of the American people of Indian origin has increased in the country.'

Joe Biden stated this by citing the inclusion of a large number of Indian-American people in his administration.

Within 50 days of assuming the presidency, Joe Biden has appointed at least 55 people of Indian origin to important posts in his administration.

From writing presidential speeches to space agency NASA, Indian-Americans have been appointed in every department of the government.

Pointing to NASA scientist Swati Mohan, Vice-President Kamala Harris and her speech writer Vinay Reddy, Joe Biden said that "American people of Indian origin have increased dominance in the country."

Swati Mohan led the direction, direction and control campaign in NASA's Mars-2020 campaign. NASA's Perseverance Rover landed on the surface of Mars on 18 February.

Biden was sworn in as the 46th President of the United States on 20 January. He has appointed at least 55 people of Indian origin in his administration. Half of them are women and they are working in the White House.

Earlier, most people of Indian origin were appointed during the tenure of Barack Obama.Nearly half of them are women and a sizable number of them are working in the White House.

So far, the Obama-Biden administration (2009-2017) has the distinction of appointing the largest number of Indian-Americans in any administration, the previous Donald Trump administration was not lagging far behind as it appointed the first ever Indian-American with a cabinet rank and inside the National Security Council.

The Biden administration has for the first time appointed such a large number of Indian-Americans in the first 50 days of his administration.

This past week, Dr. Vivek Murthy testified before a Senate Committee for US Surgeon General and Vanita Gupta is all set to appear for her confirmation hearing for Associate Attorney General Department of Justice.
