Nupur Sharma Missing: Is she hiding due to fear of arrest?

The Mumbai Police has claimed that suspended BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma has been missing for the past four days. There is no trace of Nupur Sharma, who entered into controversy after commenting on the Prophet Muhammad. Mumbai Police in Delhi have been searching for Nupur Sharma for the past four days but have been unable to obtain any information on Nupur’s location.

According to the media reports, the Mumbai police have enough evidence to arrest Nupur Sharma. So the summons was issued against Nupur based on a complaint filed at the Pydhonie Police Station.

First, a copy of the citation was emailed. But she did not respond to the summons. The Mumbai police team then arrived in Delhi to serve the summons papers as per the rules. After spending four days there, they cannot find Nupur Sharma.

Mumbai police had filed a case against Delhi resident Nupur Sharma on May 28 after her comment sparked outrage in India and the Gulf nations, based on a complaint by Irfan Sheikh, deputy secretary. of a Muslim group, the Raza Academy.

Sharma was previously summoned by email, however, receiving no reply, the police went to Delhi to hand over a physical copy of it.

Earlier, former Assam Minister Ataur Rahman Mazarbhuiya also filed an FIR against the two for allegedly hurting religious sentiments in their community.

The FIR appeared at the Katigorah police station on Tuesday, and the former MLA has asked the police to file a case under the strict sections of the Indian Penal Code against the two.

“These two people have intentionally hurt the feelings of a part of the society and strong action should be taken against them under the existing law of the nation,” Mazarbhuiya said.

BJP has suspended BJP spokespersons Nupur Sharma and Naveen Kumar Jindal for their controversial statements about the Prophet Muhammad. Sharma’s controversial comments have had a ripple effect in Islamic countries. The Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC), along with Pakistan, has harshly criticized India. The Gulf states also demanded a boycott of Indian products.

After Qatar, Kuwait, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Afghanistan, United Arab Emirates, Maldives and Jordan, Pakistan also condemned Sharma’s statement. All of these countries have accused Sharma’s statement of hurting Muslim sentiments. Some countries not only protested but also demanded a public apology from India. The BJP then showed Sharma and Jindal out of the party.
