Candidates in the Run

  • CP Singh - BJP
  • Ramavtar Singh - SP
  • Haji Jiauddin Ansari - BSP
  • Bala Devi Saini - INC

CP Singh, BJP

Hailing from Palamu, Chandreshwar Prasad Singh also known as C.P Singh. A Politician and Prominent Leader of Bharatiya Janata Party had also been a Speaker of Jharkhand Legislative Assembly from 2010-2013. He has been elected four times in a row since 1996. Shri CP Singh was appointed Cabinet Minister after the BJP won the 2014 legislative assembly elections. Additionally, he held portfolios for Urban Development, Housing, Transport, Registration, Disaster Management, Civil Aviation, and Parliamentary Affairs. CP Singh won the Ranchi Constituency as a Member of Legislative Assembly for the 6th time in a row, more than any other BJP leader in Jharkhand.

Ramavtar Singh, SP

Shree Ramavtar Singh ji is contesting from Samajwadi Party. He is 57 years old.

Haji Jiauddin Ansari, BSP

One of the 23 fielded muslin candidates by Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati.

Because the BSP fielded more Muslim candidates than SP-RLD in the elections, it is possible that Muslim votes will be divided, giving the BJP leverage, which so far has no Muslim candidates.

Bala Devi Saini, INC

Bala Devi Saini hails from Bijnor and is a representative of the Indian National Congress.

Politics of Noorpur

The Nurpur seat was re-created after delimitation in 2008. However, after Lokendra Singh's death in a road accident in 2017 the BJP fielded his widow, Avani Singh, from this seat. However, he was defeated by the candidate of the Grand Alliance, Naimul Hasan. SP has captured the Nurpur assembly seat in the by-election. In this election, Mahagathbandhan candidate Naimul Hasan won. Avani Singh was defeated by 5662 votes. In Noorpur, the majority ethnic group is Muslim. One lakh twenty thousand Muslims are voters here, while 40 Dalit voters. Additionally, 60 thousand Rajput voters are also there.

It will be extremely interesting to watch who is going to lead the elections as tough competition.
