"No Vaccination, No Salary" For Government Employees in UP District

If an employee doesn't take the COVID-19 vaccine, the department will initiate action and stop his/her salary for the month of May

Ground Report | New Delhi: In order to encourage the vaccination of covid, the district administration in Firozabad Uttar Pradesh has ordered that government employees will not get their salary till they are vaccinated.

Chief Development Officer, Charchit Gaur said that District Magistrate Chandra Vijay Singh has issued a verbal order "no vaccination, no salary". Gaur said that as per the order if an employee does not take the COVID vaccine, the department will initiate action and withhold their salary for the month of May.

Gaur said, "With the view to encourage COVID-19 vaccination, the district administration in Uttar Pradesh Firozabad has ordered that government employees will not collect their salaries if they are not vaccinated. District resource officer and offer departmental heads have been given direction to implements the order and asked to make a list and ensure vaccination".

If an employee doesn't take the COVID-19 vaccine, the department will initiate action and stop his/her salary for the month of May, he added.

He said that the District Treasurer and other departmental heads have been instructed to implement the order and ensure vaccination by making a list. The CDO said that the employees are now trying to get themselves vaccinated against the coronavirus out of fear that their salary may stop.

The state reported 1317 fresh COVID-19 cases and 179 fresh dead because of the infections on Tuesday. The active cases stood at 32,465. Earlier on Monday, the state government extended the relaxations announced in coronavirus curfew to six more districts from June 1, allowing shops and markets outside the containment zones to open for 5 days of the week.

The relaxations are significant to a total of 55 districts from June 1, while 14 districts with an active COVID-19 caseload of over 600 have been kept outside the extent of the order. The state government officials to ensure that all selections of the society receive a vaccine shot under" Mission June".

The campaign will focus on receivers of both age groups. CM also announced a special vaccination drive for socially and economically weaker sections like drivers, vendors, and rickshaw pullers from June 15.
