Ground Report | New Delhi: No Night Curfew in Assam; As the COVID 19 cases are decreasing rapidly so all the restrictions will be withdrawn from the next month in Assam. On Monday, the chief minister of Assam Himanta Biswa informed that, "there will be no curfew in Assam from February 15th and all COVID-19 restrictions are hereby withdrawn."

He added, "I appeal to all students who appear in Class 10th and Class 12th examinations to take COVID-19 vaccines”. At present, night curfew continues across the state from 11 pm to 4 am every day.

Theatres, public places, malls are allowed with 100 per cent capacity, only for fully vaccinated people's. Use of masks and sanitisers, as well as social distancing, is mandatory for all.

The Chief Minister of Assam also informed, "Along with other Municipal Board elections in the state, Guwahati Municipal Corporation and Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council elections will be held in April'.

Assam recorded 256 fresh COVID-19 cases and12 deaths on Sunday 6th February. The overall COVID cases in Assam rose to 7,21,380 and the death count went up to 7,908. Let us inform you that seeing the decline in corona cases, many states have decided to open schools and colleges.

All the states are now relaxing the COVID 19 restrictions at their level. The school has been open for classes 1 to class 9 in Ahmedabad, Gujarat from today. West Bengal has also decided to open schools. However, instructions have also been given to strictly follow the COVID 19 rules and regulations.

The state's positivity rate came down to 2.11 per cent as 21,152 samples were tested for COVID-19 during the day. Kamrup metropolitan district, which mainly comprises Guwahati city, reported 109 fresh cases against 165 infections on the previous day, a drop of around 34 per cent. It has recorded a total of 1,56,053 infections so far.
