No incident of stone pelting in one and a half months: DGP

Dilbag Singh said that in the newly union territory, there has been a 60 percent reduction in terrorist violence.

Wahid Bhat, Srinagar | Director General of Jammu and Kashmir Police, Dilbag Singh said that in last one and a half months in the newly union territory, there has been a 60 percent reduction in terrorist violence compared to the same period last year.

On Friday in Delhi, Dilbag Singh gave share information to Dr. Jitendra Singh, Minister of State in the Prime Minister's Office. During the time, the DGP also met Home Minister Amit Shah and discussed the security scenario of the state.

The DGP told the minister that during the period of one and a half months no incidents of stone pelting or burial of slain terrorists or any major law and order related incident took place.

A detailed presentation was made before the minister highlighting that up to February 13 in the current year, 24 terrorists have been neutralised, which includes 20 killed and four arrested. Of these 10 terrorists were affiliated with Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) while the newly infiltrated group of 3 terrorists were neutralized at Ban Toll Plaza, Jammu and 11 were from Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) outfit.

DGP Dilbagh Singh also informed Dr Jitendra Singh that the surveillance mechanism, both technical and human, had been further strengthened.

As a result of this, he said, the return of seven youth from South Kashmir back to their families as possible and they were thus prevented from joining the militant rank and file.

4 students stabbed with grenade on first anniversary of Pulwama attack

Jaish-e-Muhammad is now trying to mislead children in Srinagar. The Jaish plot was thwarted by the police and caught four students. They were looking for an opportunity to carry out grenade attacks in the city of Srinagar.

Sources said out of the caught students, two studied in 12th, one in 10th. Three students hail from Srinagar. At the same time, the fourth student originally from Shopian was studying in Srinagar these days.

A grenade has also been found from them. He was the one to attack the grenade at the behest of Jaish on the first anniversary of the Pulwama attack.

The four were caught on special notice at the blockade near the SOG office near Iqbal Park. He has given important information about some other boys tricked by Jaish.

Along with informing their families, the police has started their counseling process.
