Nepal Prime Minister Oli puts Nepal in another constitutional crisis

Nepal's Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has put the country in many constitutional crises. Suddenly Parliament was dissolved last Sunday, then suddenly it was changed in its cabinet on Friday. Experts say that Oli has dissolved the Parliament and is now a caretaker Prime Minister. In such a situation, they cannot ferment in the cabinet.

Chandrakanta Gyawali, a constitutional expert and senior advocate from Nepal's English newspaper Kathmandu Post, said, "Oli is now the caretaker prime minister." In such a situation, they do not have the right to reshuffle the cabinet.

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli made changes to his cabinet on Friday, ignoring criticism of the rival faction of the ruling Nepal Communist Party.

While the Supreme Court of Nepal sought an explanation from Prime Minister Oli for dissolving the elected parliament, the swearing-in ceremony of eight new ministers was completed just hours late.

Among the new ministers, Topan Bahadur Rayamazhi has been given the Ministry of Energy, Prabhu Sah has been given the Ministry of Urban Development and Prem Aale has been given the Ministry of Forest and Soil Conservation.

This change in the cabinet is being seen as a response to Prime Minister Oli's criticism of his rival Prachanda. Prachanda had appealed to the Supreme Court to uphold the constitutional spirit of Nepal.

The constitutional bench of the Supreme Court on Friday issued notice to the Oli government and sought clarification on the decision to dissolve the Lok Sabha.

On Sunday, President BD Bhandari dissolved the Parliament on the suggestion of Oli, after which 12 writ petitions were filed against it.

It has been told that the Constitutional Bench will sit for hearing twice every week and will decide on the validity of dissolution of Lok Sabha.

The Oli faction says that the dissolved parliament cannot be restored.

At present, the Supreme Court has asked the Prime Minister and the President's office to get the real documents of this decision on Sunday.
