Ground Report | New Delhi: Naseeruddin Shah admitted to hospital; Famous actor Naseeruddin Shah has pneumonia and has been admitted to a hospital in Mumbai. His wife and actress Ratna Pathak Shah told on Wednesday that Naseeruddin Shah has been admitted to Khar Hinduja Hospital in Mumbai on Tuesday.

The 70-year-old actor was found to have symptoms of pneumonia in his lungs and is being treated. Ratna Pathak Shah told news agency PTI that "his condition is improving and he will be discharged from the hospital soon."

Naseeruddin's manager said, he has been hospitalized for two days and is under medical supervision, he was brought to the hospital due to pneumonia. A patch was found in his lungs, after which he was immediately admitted to the hospital.

Naseeruddin Shah's acting career began in 1975 with Shyam Benegal's 'Nishant' and soon he became a big name in parallel cinema in the 70s and 80s.

Naseeruddin Shah has worked in films like 'Sparsh' (1979), 'Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro' (1983). Naseeruddin also had memorable roles in Shekhar Kapur's directorial 'Masoom' and 'Mirch Masala'.

Naseeruddin Shah, who has worked in more than a hundred films, has won three National Awards. In the last two decades, Naseeruddin Shah has acted in some hugely successful films including Vishal Bhardwaj's 'Ishqiya' (2009), 'The Dirty Picture' and Zoya Akhtar's 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara'.

Last year there were rumours of Naseeruddin Shah being ill. His son Vivaan had rubbished these rumours. Vivaan had tweeted on 30 April 2020, All is well. Baba is good. All the rumours related to his health are false. He's fine.
