Ground Report | New Delhi: Narela gang rape case; Missing 14-year-old girl body found in a closed shop in Narela industrial area. The deceased was allegedly gang-raped and murdered in Delhi’s Narela by two men who managed to escape after committing a crime.
According to Police officials, 107 people were interrogated and seven teams were formed resulting in the arrest of one of the accused. Accused was arrested from Sannoth village in Narela. He was preparing to flee to Mumbai.
The victim’s family had filed a missing person report on Feb 15 and officers conducted raids but couldn’t locate the girl. The girl lived with her parents and elder brother in a rented room. Her family members work as labourers in factories in Narela and Bawana industrial areas. Knowing the mental condition of the girl family members thought she may have gone to the village and would return on her own. They searched for her for the next two days but failed and lodged a missing report.
After a few days Police received a call from a shopkeeper in Sannoth village in Narela. The shopkeeper informed police that he had been in Jhansi and after he returned he noticed a foul smell in his store.
A police team went to the spot and found the girl’s body in a gunny bag in the corner of the shop. The shopkeeper also informed me that two of his employees were missing. Police sent teams and one of the accused was nabbed.
During the interrogation, the accused disclosed that he worked at the shop and he with his friend sexually assaulted and dumped the body of the minor girl. The accused said that they were drinking alcohol when they saw the girl outside her home, called her by offering to give her food and raped her. When the girl told them that she would tell her parents about the same they then strangulated her with the clothes she was wearing.
The Police now are conducting raids in Delhi and UP’s Hardoi to arrest the other accused as both of the accused are natives of Hardoi in UP and live next to each other in Delhi. A case has been registered for murder, gang rape, kidnapping and under sections of the Pocso Act (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences ).
