A 22-year-old youth named Sameer, who had landed at the bus stand in Banat town of Shamli district, was beaten to death by several people with sticks, The Quint reported.

The incident of lynching has come to the fore in Kasba Banat of Adarsh ​​Mandi police station area of ​​Shamli district. Adil, a resident of Mohalla Premnagar Banat, has filed a case of lynching. Adil said, his nephew Sameer was returning from work and got down at bus stand in town on Thursday evening.

Adil alleged that during the time 10 to 12 people of the town started beating him due to some old enmity. Sameer was attacked with sticks and iron rods. He said that they kept picking him up and throwing him on his head.

Died on His Way to the Hospital

Adil said that after leaving his belongings at home last evening, Sameer had gone to the bus stand to get medicines. Where he might have got into an argument with the accused, after which they carried out the murder.

The FIR states that the relatives who reached the spot after the incident took Sameer to CHC Shamli. But from there he was referred to Muzaffarnagar as his condition became critical. However, Sameer died on his way to Muzaffarnagar.

SP Shamli Sukirti Madhav said that on the basis of the complaint. Police teams have been deployed to ensure the arrest of the accused. A case has been registered under sections 142, 147, and 302 of the Indian Penal Code.
