Ground Report | New Delhi: Minor Girl raped by Father; In a shocking incident, an 11-year-old girl has allegedly been sexually abused by members of her family, including her father and brother, for the past five years. The incident came to light after she confided in her school counsellor after a session on "good touch, bad touch."
In addition, she was also abused by her grandfather and uncle, the Pune police reported on Saturday, March 19, stating that the crime continued for the past 5 years.
According to official reports, the police have filed a case against the accused in various sections of the IPC for sexual abuse and rape, but no arrests have been made in connection with the case so far.
While a case of rape was registered under section 376 of the Indian Penal Code against the brother and the father (45) of the girl, who is 11-year-old now, at the Bundgarden police station in Pune city, her grandfather (aged around 60) and the distant uncle (aged around 25) were booked under section 354 (Assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), she said.
The victim and his family members come from Bihar. They currently live in Pune. "The incident came to light when the girl came clean during a 'good and bad touch' session at her school. Her ordeal lasted for the last five years," said Ashwini Satpute, Police Inspector (Crime).
The father began sexually assaulting his daughter in 2017 when they lived in Bihar, Satpute said, citing the complaint. "The girl's older brother started sexually assaulting her around November 2020. Her grandfather and her distant uncle used to touch her inappropriately," the police inspector said.
Satpute said that since all the incidents occurred separately and the defendants are not aware of each other's actions, this is not a gang-rape case. Sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act (POCSO) will be added. (Minor Girl raped by Father)
