Maharashtra: Workers start returning home after declaration of Section-144

Following the announcement of the imposition of Section-144 in Maharashtra, some migrant laborers have started returning to their homes.

People's crowds can be seen at some other bus bases and railway stations, including Mumbai's Lokmanya Tilak Terminus.

Some people in this crowd said in a conversation with news agency ANI that due to curfew, they are returning to their homes.

These people say that because of the curfew, it will not work, then what will they eat? They do not want them to have to face the same troubles again which they had faced during the lockdown last year.

Last year, when the lockdown was imposed in India due to the Corona epidemic, millions of workers were forced to return home from the country's big cities on foot.

In view of the increasing cases of corona infection in Maharashtra, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray said on Tuesday that strict restrictions will be imposed in the state from eight o'clock on Wednesday night.

He said that Section-144 is being implemented in the entire state from Wednesday. However, he also said that "I will not call it a lockdown".

Also, the Chief Minister said that local train and bus services will be continued for compulsory services. Petrol pumps will remain open and financial institutions connected to the Stock Exchange Board of India will remain open. Construction related activities will continue. Hotels and restaurants will remain closed, but home delivery and take away will be allowed.

As per the order, all places of worship, schools and colleges, private coaching classes, salons, spas and beauty parlors will remain closed till 7 am on May 1.

Cinema hall, theater, auditorium, amusement park, gym, sports complex will be closed. Shooting of films, commercials and television will be discontinued.

All shops, shopping centers, establishments connected with non-essential services will remain closed from 8 am to 1 May, 7 am on April 14.

Meanwhile, Nawab Malik, a minister in the Maharashtra government, said that the state government would give five kg of ration to seven crore people of the state. Also, Rs 1,500 will be given to 25 lakh daily wage laborers and rickshaw pullers in their bank account.

He told that all the poor and needy people will be provided 3 kg of wheat and 2 kg of rice for the next one month.

Nawab Malik said that our government has announced a package of Rs 5,500 crore for this.

He said that the Shiva meal thali which was being given earlier for 10 rupees, will be given free during curfew.

Malik said that the Maharashtra government wants to chain-break the Corona infection, due to which these strict restrictions have been announced.
