Ground Report | New Delhi: List of Pegasus hack victims in India; Israel's surveillance company NSO Group's spyware- Pegasus Spyware is once again in the news. Forbidden stories and Amnesty International have claimed that 10 governments around the world are spying on their people. This investigation has been named Pegasus Project.

This is not the first time the Israeli spyware Pegasus has been accused of spying on politicians and journalists.

List of Pegasus hack

Some of the prominent Indians whose names are mentioned in the list are:

Rahul Gandhi, former Congress president

Ashwini Vaishnaw, Union Minister for Railways, IT and Communications and his wife

Prahlad Singh Patel, Central MoS Jal Shakti. (The list also includes 15 of his close aides, including his wife, personal secretaries, political and office colleagues, his cook and gardener)

Prashant Kishor, election strategist

Ashok Lavasa, former election commissioner

Abhishek Banerjee, Trinamool Congress MP and national general secretary of the party

Gagandeep Kang, top scientist and virologist

Hari Menon, India head of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation

Jagdeep Chokhar, head of Association of Democratic Reforms
