The Meteorological Department warned of dense fog in Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Himachal Pradesh over the next few days, causing visibility problems that will affect morning and evening traffic.

In its latest update, the Meteorological Department reported drastically reduced visibility this morning. In Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur, visibility was zero meters, while Lucknow recorded 50 meters and Bareilly 200 meters. Other cities like Sarsawa, Hindon, and Safdarjung (Delhi) reported 500 meters, along with similar conditions in Bhagalpur, Purnia, Halwara, Bathinda, Sirsa, and Gwalior.

The forecast mentions jet stream winds at 90 knots at 12.6 km above sea level in North-West India, contributing to the expected seasonal changes.

Minimum temperatures in most of India remain stable, but some regions are experiencing fluctuations. In Bihar and eastern Uttar Pradesh, temperatures are 3 to 5 degrees Celsius above normal. Similarly, temperatures in parts of Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Sub-Himalanian West Bengal and Sikkim are 2 to 3 degrees Celsius above normal.

In contrast, areas like western Rajasthan, western Uttar Pradesh, Saurashtra, Kutch, and isolated parts of Kerala, Mahe, Vidarbha, Odisha, and Telangana, are recording temperatures 2 to 3 degrees Celsius below normal. Delhi has seen a dip in maximum and minimum temperatures. The maximum temperature in Delhi ranges from 22 to 23 degrees Celsius, while the minimum is between 9 and 13 degrees Celsius. These figures are 4 to 5 degrees Celsius lower than normal.

In Delhi, the northwest wind speed is expected to be under 8 km/h in the morning, bringing mist and moderate to dense fog. By afternoon, the wind speed will increase to 10 km/h, with haze and light fog possibly persisting into the evening and night.

The Meteorological Department predicts light to moderate rain in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala, Mahe, and Lakshadweep today, November 20, with rainfall of 15.6 to 64.4 mm. Rain is expected to continue in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands throughout the week.

In Northeast India, light to moderate rain is forecasted for Assam and Meghalaya today, with more expected from November 20 to 22 in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura. These states may receive 15.6 to 64.4 mm of rain, with possible hailstorms in Assam and Meghalaya.

On November 19, isolated locations in Kerala, Mahe, Lakshadweep, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Andaman, and Nicobar Islands experienced light rain and thundershowers.
