Weather changes in Madhya Pradesh, temperature drops and light rain

As February ends, Madhya Pradesh’s weather is changing again. Many cities, including the state capital Bhopal, experienced a temperature shift on Thursday. In the morning, Bhopal’s sky was cloudy, and light drizzle fell in several Gwalior division areas. Meanwhile, on Wednesday, both day and night temperatures were unusually high.

Temperature expected to drop further

Meteorologist Ved Prakash Singh predicts that day and night temperatures will drop by 2 to 3 degrees in the next 24 hours. While some parts of the state have a cool breeze, Indore and Ujjain are still feeling the heat during the day. The Meteorological Department reported a cyclonic circulation over South Pakistan and Rajasthan. A western disturbance in North India is also affecting Madhya Pradesh’s weather.

On Wednesday night, light rain in Bhind and Morena slightly increased cold. Similarly, Thursday morning, Morena and Datia had drizzle. Due to this, the temperature in these areas is dropping. The Meteorological Department predicts the temperature may continue to fall, bringing back a cold spell.

In the last 24 hours, many districts in Gwalior and Chambal divisions received rainfall, while Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, Narmadapuram, Gwalior, Rewa, Jabalpur, Shahdol, and Sagar recorded temperatures up to 3 degrees above normal.

Some districts in the Narmadapuram, Ujjain, and Sagar divisions saw minimum temperatures 2.7 degrees Celsius higher than usual.

Among the five coldest places in the state, Pachmarhi in Narmadapuram district had the lowest temperature at 11.5 degrees Celsius. Other cold places included Girwar (Shajapur) at 11.9 degrees, Awari (Ashoknagar) at 12.5 degrees, and Taalun Kalyanpur (Shahdol) at 13.3 degrees.

The Meteorological Department stated a new western disturbance will become active in North-West India on February 24, impacting Madhya Pradesh’s weather. Currently, the temperature is fluctuating due to cyclonic circulation over South Pakistan and Rajasthan. Because of this, western disturbances in North India are bringing drizzle to Madhya Pradesh.

Light rain fell in Bhind and Morena Wednesday night, followed by morning drizzle in Morena and Datia Thursday. Consequently, the temperature is falling. Experts predict a further drop of 2 to 3 degrees, making the weather colder in the coming days.

The weather impact varies across the state. Gwalior division is getting colder due to falling temperatures, while Indore and Ujjain still facing daytime heat. Bhopal and Indore are experiencing higher temperatures, making the weather feel warm.
