Parts of Northwest and Central India will soon get a break from the intense heat. Pre-monsoon showers will hit several areas in the next 48 hours. Many people, especially those without fans or shelters, are suffering under the high temperatures. Outdoor workers are also finding it hard to cope.
Weather changes are on the way. Thunderstorms, dust storms, and light rain will move across parts of the region and bring down the temperatures for a short time. Rajasthan, Haryana, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha, and Uttar Pradesh will likely see dust storms and thunderstorms.
Forecast for April 25–26
Rajasthan: Jaipur, Ajmer, Churu, Jhunjhunu, Sikar, Alwar, and Bharatpur could see dust storms.
Haryana: Jind, Rohtak, Charkhi Dadri, Mewat, Nuh, Palwal, Faridabad, and Jhajjar could see thunderstorms.
Delhi-NCR and Uttar Pradesh: Delhi-NCR, Agra, Hathras, Aligarh, Jhansi, Mahoba, Banda, Prayagraj, Varanasi, and Chitrakoot could face thunderstorms and dust storms.
Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh: Gwalior, Datia, Tikamgarh, Jabalpur, Sidhi, Rajnandgaon, Durg, Raigarh, Raipur, and Balod Bazar could see rain and storms.
What to expect after April 27
East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, Jharkhand, and Odisha will likely get thunderstorms, heavy rain, thunder squalls, and some hail.
These showers will not end the heatwave for good. But they will cool down the weather for a few days.
Stay alert to local weather warnings, especially during storm times. South Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, and Vidarbha will see more thunderstorms in the next 24–48 hours.
Mumbai and nearby areas will see partly cloudy skies this weekend, with more clouds at night and early morning. Pre-monsoon storms are expected to get stronger over Gujarat and Northwest Maharashtra after May 2.
