Madhya Pradesh is experiencing a cold wave, with temperatures dropping significantly. On Sunday morning, Kalyanpur in Shahdol recorded temperatures as low as 4.9 degrees Celsius, while Indore and Bhopal also felt the chill. What’s happening with weather?

The cold wave intensified over the weekend, with temperatures dropping sharply on Saturday and Sunday nights. Cold winds have made the weather feel harsher, especially in the mornings and evenings. While the days have been slightly warmer, the nights have been freezing.

The Meteorological Department says the cold wave will continue for two more days, but relief is coming. From Monday-Tuesday night, temperatures are expected to rise by 3-4 degrees, making the weather more comfortable. However, nights will still be cold.

The weather may change again in early February. A Western Disturbance (a weather system that brings rain) is expected to affect the state from February 1 to 4, possibly causing rain in eastern and southern Madhya Pradesh, including Rewa, Shahdol, Jabalpur, Sagar, Gwalior, Chambal, and Narmadapuram. Meanwhile, Indore, Bhopal, and Ujjain are expected to have clear weather.
