The changing weather in Madhya Pradesh has raised concerns for farmers, as rain and hailstorms are expected from March 20 to 22. The Meteorological Department has issued alerts for multiple districts, warning of thunderstorms, strong winds, and possible crop damage.
The sudden drop in temperature after Holi has brought relief from the heat, but it also signals a challenging period for agriculture. Farmers in Mandla, Balaghat, Shahdol, Singrauli, and Sidhi are especially at risk, as these areas may experience hailstorms with wind speeds of up to 50 kmph.
Experts suggest that standing crops, especially wheat, pulses, and vegetables, could be affected by the extreme weather. Farmers are advised to take preventive measures such as covering their crops, securing harvested produce, and staying updated on weather forecasts.
The government has urged local authorities to assist farmers in protecting their yield. Agricultural experts recommend avoiding irrigation before the rains and keeping harvested grains in dry storage.
With unpredictable weather patterns becoming more frequent, farmers must stay alert and prepared. The coming days will be crucial in determining the impact of this unexpected weather shift on agricultural production in Madhya Pradesh.
