We track daily weather updates across India and the world. Our live blog covers heatwaves, floods, cyclones, heavy rain, storms, and other extreme weather events. We bring you reports from cities, towns, and villages to show how weather is affecting daily life.
Extreme weather is no longer rare. Many parts of India now face intense heat, sudden rainfall, flash floods, storm or strong winds with little warning. These events disrupt transport, damage crops, close schools, and put lives at risk. We monitor these developments and provide timely, clear updates you can trust.
When a heatwave hits, we report temperature levels, health risks, and government responses. During floods, we track water levels, rescue work, and damage. We cover storm warnings and power cuts, and share safety tips from weather officials.
Our team uses real-time data, satellite maps, and reports from the ground. We speak with people facing the weather crisis—farmers, shopkeepers, families—so you hear real voices and not just numbers. If a cyclone is expected, we post live updates about its path, speed, and impact.
We also look at long-term changes. Are heatwaves getting worse? Is rainfall less predictable? What do experts say about future risks?
You can follow this blog for daily posts, real-time alerts, and useful information. Whether you live in a city or a rural area, this blog helps you stay prepared and aware.

Monsoon Slows in Maharashtra, Experts Warn Farmers to Delay Sowing
The monsoon arrived early in Maharashtra this year but has now slowed down. The IMD says dry weather will dominate most parts of the state from May 27 to at least June 5. Only Konkan may see some rain. Despite heavy pre-monsoon showers in some areas, officials warn farmers not to begin sowing yet. Starting too early could damage crops due to a lack of steady rainfall. Agriculture authorities are urging farmers to wait for consistent rain and to ignore false updates spreading on social media.

Pune Monsoon Enters Lull After Record May Rainfall
After days of heavy rain, the monsoon over Pune is set to take a break starting Friday, lasting till June 3, according to the IMD. The city recorded 255.8 mm of rainfall in May—over 2164% of its usual 11.8 mm—causing floods in several parts of the district, including 14 villages after a canal breach in Indapur. Rain began early in May due to a low-pressure area over the Arabian Sea, with ghat regions also hit hard, disrupting traffic.

Wildfires Force Evacuation of Village in Buryatia
Authorities in Buryatia, a region in Siberia, ordered the evacuation of the village of Sulkhara on Wednesday. Strong winds pushed fast-moving wildfires toward the village, prompting officials to move 91 residents, including 33 children, to temporary shelters in a nearby village.
The fire did not reach Sulkhara, but the situation in the Kizhinginsky district remains difficult. As of Wednesday morning, 43 wildfires were active across Buryatia. Officials say 30 of these fires started due to human carelessness.
Sergei Boroshnoyev, head of Buryatia’s forestry agency, said the fires have been burning for five days in remote areas that are hard to reach and difficult to put out. Dry and windy weather is making firefighting efforts harder.
Buryatia declared a state of emergency on May 13 and banned public access to forests. Officials blame most fires on human activity.
So far, nearly 68,500 hectares (about 170,000 acres) have burned in Buryatia. It is the second most affected region this wildfire season. The nearby Zabaikalsky region has seen more damage, with 90% of the country’s wildfires, which led to a federal emergency declaration last month.

Glacier Collapse in Switzerland Buries 90% of Blatten Village
A remote village in the Swiss Alps was nearly wiped out after a massive section of the Birch Glacier collapsed. The landslide hit Blatten in the Lötschental Valley on May 28, burying homes, roads, and forests under thick layers of ice, mud, and rock. Authorities had evacuated residents days earlier, but the scale of destruction has left the community in shock.
Drone footage shows the extent of the damage. About 90% of the village is either buried or destroyed. One man is still missing. Officials say glacier movement had increased in recent days, raising concerns about the stability of the surrounding terrain. The disaster has renewed questions about the impact of climate change on mountain regions.
