Lashkar Terrorist Talib Hussain was associated with BJP

One of the two Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists who were captured by villagers in J&K's Reasi on Sunday was a member of the BJP's IT cell. Talib Hussain had previously worked as an IT and Social Media Manager for the Jammu BJP Minority Morcha. BJP Minority Morcha chairman Sheikh Bashir said Hussain had been working with BJP for "a long time" and that he resigned two months ago.

“LeT commander Talib Hussain, a Rajouri district resident and mastermind of the recent IED explosions in the district, and Faizal Ahmad Dar, a categorized terrorist from Pulwama district in southern Kashmir, were captured”, said the Jammu police.

On May 9, the BJP appointed Shah in charge of the party's IT and social media in Jammu province.

BJP has blamed the online membership system through which people can join the party without any background checks. "A new problem has arisen with this arrest," RS Pathania party spokesman said. "I would say this is a new model: get into the BJP, get access, do reconnaissance…there was even a plot to kill top leaders that were arrested by the police," he said.

Jammu and Kashmir Police said Hussain was in constant contact with Pakistan-based terrorist LeT Qasim and was involved in at least three cases of improvised explosive device explosions in Rajouri district, in addition to civilian killings and grenade explosions. He was also associated with the BJP and had previously been appointed Head of IT and Social Media for the Jammu BJP Minority Morcha.

Talib Hussain Shah and his accomplice were caught by the villagers with two AK rifles, several grenades and other weapons and ammunition. They were handed over to the police.

"Mr. Talib Hussain Shah, in Draj Kotranka, budhan, Rajouri District, will be the new Head of IT and Social Media for Mocha Jammu Province of the BJP Minority with immediate effect," an order issued by the Morcha Minority J&K read.

He has been photographed with several of the BJP's top leaders, including J&K chairman Ravindra Raina. Deputy Governor Manoj Sinha and the police praised the bravery of the Reasi residents and announced a cash reward.

"Congratulations to the courage of the villagers of Tuksan, Reasi district. Two LeT #terrorists arrested by villagers with weapons; 2AK #rifles, 7 #grenades and a #pistol. DGP announces #reward of Rs 2 lakhs for the villagers Mukesh Singh, Jammu Police Additional Director General, tweeted.

"I salute the bravery of villagers of Tukson Dhok, Reasi, who apprehended two most-wanted terrorists. Such determination by common man shows end of terrorism is not far away. UT Govt to extend ₹ 5 Lakh cash reward to villagers for the gallant act against terrorists and terrorism" tweeted Lt Governor Manoj Sinha.
