Keeping the areas within the boundary wall free from infection during the Covid-19 epidemic has proved to be a major challenge. And a virus-free environment inside has become a necessity in preventing the spread of this pandemic. Zacinya has tied up with Italian engineer Francesco Janata, the founder of Altec K-Laser. His company manufactures laser products used in medicine.

However, many scientists have also warned about this research. He says that light-based technology will not be safe to kill the coronavirus. A study published in the Journal of Photochemistry and Photobiology in November last year showed the risk of cancer from light-based devices.

But Jakinya and Janata have dismissed these dangers, saying that the laser never comes in contact with human skin. "Our device uses nature against nature. It is 100% safe and can be completely recycled," Janata told Reuters news agency.

There are also flaws

But one drawback of this technique is that viruses and bacteria can be eliminated in the air itself. If they fall from the air to the floor or any surface, the laser will not work. Apart from this, if the virus reaches another person by sneezing or by speaking loudly, then this laser will not be able to harm him. Altec has got the patent for this device and now the company is trying to take it internationally.

This device can be easily carried from one place to another. Its height is 5 feet 9 inches and its weight is about 25 kg. The company says that it can also be installed in the air-conditioning unit. The company has also started getting customers. Among those showing interest in the device includes Germany's EcoCare company, which works in the field of testing of vaccinations. “Our company intends to license this device for the markets of Germany and UAE,” a spokesperson for Ecocare said.
