Kiran Rao and Aamir Khan Love Story

Kiran Rao, wife of Bollywood's Aamir Khan now Both have announced to end their relationship. Kiran Rao, who has directed films like 'Dhobighat', is known for promoting art films. In 2005, both of them got married.

Born in Bangalore, Kiran was brought up in Kolkata. Aamir and Kiran met on the sets of the film 'Lagaan'. Kiran Rao was an assistant director in Ashutosh Gowariker's film Lagaan. Gradually the two became friends. Then this friendship turned into love and both of them got married in 2005.

Kiran established herself after marriage. She directed the film 'Dhobi Ghat'. Apart from this, she is also the producer of award-winning films like the TV show 'Satyamev Jayate' and 'Ship of Theseus'.

Joint statement

The two wrote, ‘During our 15 years together, we lived every moment with joy and our relationship continued to grow with trust, respect, and love. Now we will start a new chapter in our life – which will not be like husband and wife, but as co-parents and family for each other. We had planned our separation a while back and now we are comfortable with this separate living arrangement. We will continue to be co-parents to son Azad and will take care of him together.

Apart from films and our Paani Foundation, we will continue to work together on all projects that interest us. Thanks to our friends and families for their continued support during this time, without their support we would not have been able to make this decision. We expect our well-wishers to see this divorce as not the end, but the beginning of a new journey like us.
