Next month is likely to prove Herculean to tackle for Jammu and Kashmir civil administration and security grid as GOI’s high level meeting slated after August 15 in New Delhi is set to take final call over scarping JK’s special status.

As per the sources, the Union Home Minister Amit Shah will chair the meet in which different cabinet ministers and secretaries are likely to take part. The meeting is most likely meant to discuss the strategy for finding ways to scrap Article that accords special position to Jammu and Kashmir.

In order to liberate Jammu and Kashmir from Article 35A, a roadmap can be prepared in a high-level meeting in New Delhi after Independence Day on August 15 next month. It is claimed that the Union Home Ministry has asked the constitutional experts and lawmakers to prepare a roadmap on this issue.

To avoid any aggravated situation, Union Home Minister Amit Shah has convened a meeting of the concerned officials to prepare an effective action plan after August 15 to end the 35 A in Jammu and Kashmir. In this meeting, besides all the Cabinet Ministers, all the Cabinet Secretaries, all senior officers, lawmakers and constitutional experts of the Central Government attached to Jammu and Kashmir affairs have been called.

Central Government’s Privilege to Make Any Decision

BJP’s national vice-president Avinash Rai Khanna recently said in a statement that it is the central government’s privilege that it can take any decision on Article 35 A. The stand of the BJP on this issue is clear. We are favored to end it and in this direction, whatever is appropriate, steps will be taken and raised.

The news of dissolving the 35 A in Kashmir is being scared

Vice President of Omar National Conference and former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said that people are being intimidated by spreading news about dissolution of Article 35A. Omar wrote on his Twitter handle that it is surprising that instead of generating a sense of security, peace and prosperity in the valley, instead of normalizing the situation in Kashmir, a large part of the administration was trying to frighten people. That Article 35A can be dissolved after 15th August. Widespread violence in Kashmir can spread.

What is Article 35A ?

This Article deprives non-state people from buying real estate in the state, settling permanently and securing job rights in any department under state government. This Article empowers the State Legislative Assembly to make the permanent resident of the State for the citizens of Jammu and Kashmir, for them to make subordinate jobs and other privileges to the State Government. Various PILs are also under consideration in the Supreme Court to end this article.
