JNU library will no longer 24/7, timings changed on the official website

JNU administration on Saturday changed the Dr. B. R. Ambedkar central library timings. Amid protests against the newly passed hostel manual, varsity administration changed 24/7 hours library timings to 11 hours only. Timings were changed directly on the library official website without any official notice.

Students in the university are protesting against the draconian hostel manual for the last six days. There is no official response from the administration in favour of the questions raised by the students’ union. University is on strike from the last six days after the Inter Hall Administration Committee passed the hostel manual draft without consulting with the JNUSU. Issues like fee hike, curfew timings and dress code were being raised in the protests. JNUSU has given the ultimatum to the administration to reply till Monday, 4th November.

Locking down of Parthasarthi Rocks and the gates connecting SIS-1 and SIS-2 were the previous attempts to curb the democratic spaces in JNU. All the parties in the university are opposing the hostel manual in one tone. Left United panel, BAPSA and ABVP are altogether completely opposing the draconian manual.
