Ground Report | New Delhi: J&K Board Class 12 commerce; Private school student Jatin Mahajan topped the class 12 JK board exam in the commerce stream in Kathua district and secured the second position in Jammu province with 494 marks out of 500 (98.8 percent).

The son of a businessman, Jatin secured 494 marks with full marks in Business Studies and Physical Education, besides 98-98 marks in English, Accounting, and Entrepreneurship.

The COVID-19 pandemic has brought about significant changes in daily routines for almost everyone, but Jatin remained unaffected by the new social order due to the lockdown and other restrictions. “Schools and other educational institutions were closed for such a long time. Facing this new routine was quite upsetting for me initially but gradually I saw this isolation time as a great opportunity to focus and rebalance my study regime. "

The eldest of three siblings, Jatin studied for 8 to 10 hours a day while preparing for his board exams and took advantage of social media by subscribing to some study-related Facebook pages and YouTube channels. Social media can be a game-changer provided it is used optimally as it provides a lot of information that can be available on your computer or mobile phone in a matter of seconds.

Want to become a CA

The youth is a resident of village Buddhi Kathua of Barnoti block. His father owns a shop and his mother is a teacher in a private school.

Talking about his goals, Jatin said, "I want to become a CA and am looking forward to get admitted in Delhi University. Right now, I can't say much about it because of Covid. But yes, I am a good person. Want to join the institute.

“I will give the credit of all my success to my parents, teachers (CA Ankul Sharma), school teachers, and coaching teachers. I gave importance to all of them, be it home, school, coaching, or self-study Because everything has its own relevance.

Sharing his study strategy, Jatin said, "I revised everything I read to see how much I understood and reflected on it at the end."
