Jack Ma emerges for first time since China's crackdown on Alibaba

Alibaba Group owner Jack Ma, one of China's richest businessman was missing for the last two months, has surfaced in the world. 

Jack Ma had been missing since the Chinese clampdown on Alibaba Group, following which the market was hot on speculation that the Chinese government had put him under house arrest.

However on Wednesday, January 20, he first appeared virtually during a social welfare program for rural teachers through a video link. Jack Ma has publicly appeared for the first time after the Chinese regulator cracked down on Alibaba and Ant Group. 

According to the Chinese newspaper Global Times, Alibaba founder Jack Ma attended the Rural Teachers Awards ceremony which was started in 2015 by the Jack Ma Foundation. In this annual event, through video, he met 100 rural teachers from across the country (China) and during the virtual dialogue he said that we will meet again when the corona epidemic is over.

In fact, Ant Management was issued a summons on 2 November by Chinese financial regulators just before Ant's planned dual list in Shanghai and Hong Kong. In November last year, Chinese authorities had suspended their $ 37 billion IPO of Ant Group, giving a big blow to Jack. 

According to media reports, after this action, Jack Ma was asked not to leave China until the ongoing investigation against Alibaba Group is completed. Jack Ma had been missing from the public world since then.

According to media reports, Jack Ma criticized the speech given in October last year by Chinese financial regulators and state-run banks. After this criticism, he also had a dispute with Chinese President Xi Jinping and since this dispute, he has not been seen for almost two months.
