IT Raid on Dainik Bhaskar

Ground Report | New Delhi: IT Raid on Dainik Bhaskar.; The offices of leading Hindi newspaper Dainik Bhaskar have been raided by the Central Board of Direct Taxes from this morning. News agency ANI reported that Income Tax officials had simultaneously raided the residences and offices of the Dainik Bhaskar Group across the country in a case of massive tax evasion.

 IT officials are conducting searches at the commercial premises as well as the residential premises of the promoters in Madhya Pradesh. The team of IT department is present at the residence of Dainik Bhaskar owner Sudhir Agarwal in Bhopal.

The Income Tax Department is conducting this search in the case of tax evasion on Dainik Bhaskar Group. Congress leader Digvijay Singh has linked the raid on Bhaskar's office to BJP. He said that IT, ED, CBI are his "only weapons".

Senior Congress leader and former Madhya Pradesh CM Digvijay Singh tweeted that tax officers are present in half a dozen premises of the group including his office at the press complex in the state capital Bhopal. The raid has taken the help of local police. Action is also underway at offices in Jaipur, Ahmedabad including Bhopal. These raids are being operated by teams from Delhi and Mumbai.

The digital wing of the newspaper has been asked to work from home after receiving information about the raid. Waiting for more information right now.

The phones of all the employees present in Bhaskar's office have been confiscated. Also, no one is being allowed to go out. Dainik Bhaskar has published many innovative news stories during the Covid epidemic in which questions were raised on the Covid management of the governments.
