Ground Report | New Delhi: ISKCON temple attacked; A mob allegedly ransacked the ISKCON temple and attacked devotees in Bangladesh's Noakhali district on Friday. Attacks on temples have not stopped even after Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's assurances.
ISKCON temple attacked
The mob killed one of its members, besides launching a "violent attack" on the temple and its devotees. Later the body was reportedly found in a pond next to the temple.
The deceased has been identified as Partha Das Das (26), who was missing since Friday. According to locals, his body was recovered from a pond near the temple premises on Saturday morning.

Besides Das, at least four other devotees were injured in Friday's attack on the ISKCON temple in Noakhali. He is undergoing treatment at Noakhali General Hospital.
Temple suffered damage
Official Twitter handle, the ISCKON said, "ISKCON temple and devotees were violently attacked today by a mob in Noakhali, Bangladesh. Temple suffered significant damage & the condition of a devotee remains critical. We call on the Government of Bangladesh to ensure the safety of all Hindus and bring the perpetrators to justice."
ISKCON member, Partha Das, who was brutally murdered by a mob of over 200 people yesterday, was found dead in a pond next to the temple. We demand the Government of Bangladesh for immediate action.
Vrajendra Nandan Das, director of ISKCON National Communication, said, "Those who attacked were terrorists, goons from the majority community. 3 of our devotees were killed. Bangladesh government should take action to prevent such incidents in future."

"They killed two of our disciples on the spot; the body of another was recovered from a pond near the temple. He was a good devotee, I saw his previous pictures, he was a joyful devotee. They took him, He was brutally killed and his body was recovered from the lake. It is really sad," he said.

"This is not the first incident that happened in Bangladesh, such incidents are happening for a long time. Whenever Hindu festivals take place, the majority community in Bangladesh creates ruckus," he said.
"It is with great grief that we share the news of an ISKCON member, Partha Das, who was brutally killed yesterday by a mob of over 200 people. His body was found in a pond next to the temple. We call on the Govt of Bangladesh for immediate action in this regard," the official Twitter handle of the Iskcon community said.
