Union Minister of State for Home G Kishan Reddy said in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday tells LS that Over 960 militants and 413 security personnel have been killed in Jammu and Kashmir in the last five years.

He said security forces were taking proactive action against militants, pursuant to the government's zero tolerance policy towards militancy.

"Due to concerted and synergised efforts of security forces, 963 militants have been neutralised in the state of Jammu and Kashmir since 2014 till June 2019”.

However, during these operations, 413 security forces personnel have also lost their lives," Reddy said, replying to a written question.

Ministry of Home Affairs also have released the details of infiltration, infiltrators killed and arrested, security personnel martyred and injured during a proactive engagement with infiltrators during the last three years in the state of Jammu and Kashmir.

The report released by the Ministry of Home Affairs shows that attempts of Infiltration from across the border are mainly in Jammu & Kashmir which has been affected by terrorist violence, sponsored & supported from the across-the-border. Also, the net infiltration in the Jammu and Kashmir has been reduced by 43% in the first half of the year over the corresponding period of 2018.

Amit Shah has been appointed as the Home Minister of India and is responsible for the Ministry of Home Affairs. The report shows that there were 119 net infiltrations in 2016, followed by 136 in 2017 and then 143 in 2018, the most comparing to the previous two years. Out of these net infiltration, 35 were killed in 2016, 59 were killed in 2017, while just 32 were killed in 2018 out of the 143 infiltration.

Likewise, India lost 15 soldiers in 2016, seven in 2017, while just five in 2018. However, 37 security personnel were injured in 2016, 11 in 2017, while just one in 2018.
