Indian security forces arrested a Chinese soldier in East Ladakh

India's security forces have arrested a Chinese soldier in eastern Ladakh. The action took place in the southern part of Lake Pagong on the morning of January 8.

Officials said that this soldier of the People's Liberation Army had crossed the Line of Actual Control into Indian territory. Security forces stationed there took this Chinese soldier into custody.

This incident has been held in eastern Ladakh in the last eight months in the border dispute between the two countries between the two Chinese soldiers.

Since the escalation of tension between India and China last year, both countries have deployed a large number of security forces on both sides of the Line of Actual Control. News agency PTI quoted army sources as saying that the arrested PLA soldier is being investigated as per the prescribed procedure.

On 15 June last year, the attack on Indian soldiers was done by deception, it should be noted that the deployment of large number of troops on both sides of the LAC has been long standing. In April itself, some Chinese soldiers tried to encroach on the Indian border, which was given a befitting reply from India. Later on 15 June, Chinese soldiers in Galwan Valley fraudulently attacked Indian soldiers with non-conventional weapons, in which 20 Indian soldiers were martyred and nearly twice as many Chinese soldiers were killed.

In October last year, a Chinese soldier was captured by the Indian Army in the Chumar-Demchok area. Important documents were also recovered from the Chinese soldier. After interrogation, the Indian Army had returned its soldier to China. China claimed that a soldier had crossed the LAC while helping a shepherd find a lost yak.

There has been tension between India and China over LAC in Ladakh for nearly 9 months. There was also a violent clash between the armies of the two countries in June, in which 20 soldiers of India were martyred and China suffered heavy losses. Dragged by the construction of roads and bridges in Indian territory, the dragon increased the mobilization of troops along the border. Even after several rounds of talks, the forces have not retreated.
