Karnam Malleswari

Karnam Malleswari is the first woman to win a medal for India in the Olympics. Karnam has got bronze medal in weight lifting. He won this medal in the year 2000 Sydney Olympics. He achieved this feat by lifting 110 kg in the snatch category and 130 kg in the clean and jerk category. Karnam was born in Andhra Pradesh.
