Chinese military spokesman said that the, discussions are being held between China and India on the ninth round of meeting of the Corps Commander level.

China's official newspaper Global Times According to the Chinese Defense Ministry spokesman Tan Kefi said that since the eighth round of the China-India commander level meeting in November, the two sides have continued discussions on maintaining peace and improving their management among the troops on the border.

According to the Chinese spokesperson, the situation in the border areas is stable.

He said that China is ready to maintain dialogue with India through military and diplomatic channels and he hopes that India will also work towards the same goal, execute the agreed meetings and reduce tension on the border. Will take concrete steps.

On December 18, in a virtual meeting of the Working Mechanism for Consultation and Coordination (WMCC) for border matters, a consensus was reached for early next-level talks between senior commanders of India and China. In this, talks were to be held on LAC to quickly withdraw troops.

Quoting sources attached to the matter, the Hindustan Times writes, “No party has yet proposed a date for military talks. No major solution can be found to resolve the border issue without political or diplomatic intervention.”

Both sides have held eight level military talks so far but during this time no progress has been seen in resolving the border issue.

Lt. Gen. (retd) DS Hooda, commander of the Northern Command, says, “The main reason (to find no solution from the talks) is that it is very difficult for both sides to meet the conditions of retreat. This can only happen Is when there is diplomatic or political level talks because military level discussion will be able to solve only minor issues."

India and China are set to last a long time in the Ladakh sector and are determined to hold the LAC ahead in the cold winter months.
