Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has confirmed for the first time that the ongoing India-China conflict in Ladakh. He said that China has deployed a large number of troops on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh. However, India has taken all necessary steps to deal with this situation.

Rajnath further said that a meeting between senior military officers of the two countries is to be held on June 6 in the matter of border dispute. However, he made it clear that India would not back down for now.

The Defense Minister told the News Channel that what has been happening in East Ladakh at the moment is correct. China's military is on LAC. He is claiming that this area belongs to him, while we claim that it falls in the Indian border. There is a disagreement between the two on this. A large number of people of the People's Liberation Army have camped here. But what India should do to deal with it is being done.

The LAC has been in conflict with troops from India and China in several areas of eastern Ladakh for almost a month. Both countries are talking at the military and diplomatic level to resolve the dispute.
