In Kargil: BJP sharing power with ‘Gupkar gang’ member NC

The BJP has called the People's Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD), an organization of political parties in Jammu and Kashmir, an anti-national gang that seeks to intervene with foreign forces in Jammu and Kashmir.

But in Kargil, the BJP is sharing power with the National Conference.

The Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council, according to the report of The Indian Express, has NC on ten of the 26 seats elected in Kargil, Congress on eight and BJP on three.

There are five independent candidates. The Ladakh administration nominates four members in the 30-member council. Hill Council is headed by Feroz Khan of NC while BJP counselor Mohammad Ali Chandan is also among the four executive counselors.

When asked about the BJP's partnership with the National Conference at LAHDC, the BJP MP in Ladakh and the president of the party's Ladakh unit, Jamyang Tersing Namgyal, said the BJP is an open partner with the National Conference, and will continue to be.

He said that NC has nothing to do with the party unit in Kargil. MP Namgyal said that NC will come to BJP in the next council elections also, there is no existence of any other party here.

He said that they want to make Jammu and Kashmir a state again, and want the restoration of article 370, but it will not happen in Ladakh, Ladakh is against article 370.

On the other hand, LAHDCK Chief Executive Councilor Feroz Khan said that Kargil included NC, now that Ladakh has become a separate union territory, but their parent organization is still the same, and Farooq Abdullah is their leader.

BJP has nothing to do with NC in Kargil '

BJP's executive councilor representing Shargole constituency said that the National Conference and BJP had contested the Kargil Hill Council elections on their own in the year 2018.

Only last month, the Gupkar coalition was formally formed, consisting of seven regional parties, this coalition wants the restoration of article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir.

BJP leaders attack coalition alliance

He said that Mehbooba Mufti had said that she would not hoist the tricolor until the flag of Jammu and Kashmir would be made. He questioned whether the Congress supports these statements of Farooq Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti. The Law Minister said that the Congress should tell if she supports such motives of tussle.
