Indian Govt bans 47 more Chinese apps : Here is everything about it

Indian government on Monday, 28th july 2020 banned 47 more Chinese apps including Tik-Tok Lite having any link to china. While the last banning parade was focused on banning all the major application like Tik-tok and Share It. This time most being clones or from the same parent company whose main application was banned last month.

Official list of banned apps is not released yet. However, it includes clones like Tik-Tok lite, Helo Lite, Share It LIte etc. Including these Chinese apps and last apps the total number is 106. According to some reports, apart from these, some other apps might be on the way of getting banned. Including the game giant PUBG Mobile.

Earlier on June 29, the IT ministry's statement on ban of 59 Chinese apps. Which had cited numerous complaints received from various quarters. Such as several reports about misuse of some mobile application available on Android and IOS platform. For "stealing and surreptitiously transmitting users' data in an unauthorised manner to servers which have locations outside India."

The Data Mining and profiling by elements is said to be hostile to the national security and defence of India. IT ministry on June 29 commented on how the matter is of deep concern and require immediate measure.

The ministry wrote to the respective companies. That continuation of apps directly and indirectly would be considered as an offence under Information Technology act and other applicable act. Apart from this, the IT Ministry evoked its power under section 69A under Information Technology Act.
