Why celebrate Father’s Day?
In most places, it is celebrated on the third Sunday of June. Father’s Day was first celebrated on July 5, 1908, in Fairmont, West Virginia. Grace Golden Clayton was an orphan and she worked hard for a long time to give special importance to this day. About 210 people lost their lives in a mine accident that took place on 6 December 1907 months earlier. Clayton thought of celebrating this day in the memory of the same 210 people. But alas, there was no holiday for it then.
