Ground Report | New Delhi: Hockey player Vandana Kataria; Some social media users are creating fake Twitter accounts in Indian women’s hockey team player Vandana Kataria. Vandana Kataria expressed her disappointment on social media due to the fake Twitter account.

In a tweet, she requested the people that “My family and I are going through a very tough time. Thanks to everyone for their support. It’s a humble request to some people to not increase my troubles. I am seeing people making my fake accounts and sharing tweets from them ON MY BEHALF.

Earlier after India lost to Argentina in the women’s hockey semi-final at the Tokyo Olympics, two upper-caste men started circling Vandana Kataria house in Haridwar Roshnabad village. Upper caste people circled around Vandana’s house and called out the family members saying that the team lost because it had “too many Dalit players”.

Naturally humiliating the family of the talented Indian forward who became the first Indian woman to score a hat-trick at the Tokyo Olympics in her crucial Group A pool match against South Africa, Vandana’s brother Shekhar told TOI, “We are upset after the loss. An FIR is yet to be registered on the basis of the complaint at the time of filing the report. SHO of Sidcul police station LS Butola told TOI, “One person whose name had cropped up has been taken into custody.” He didn’t say who. “We have received a complaint and investigation is on, after which a case will be registered.”
