Ground Report | New Delhi: Hindu temple attacked in Pakistan; In Pakistan, Police and Rangers have been called to control the situation in the area after angry people attacked and vandalized a temple in Bhong Sharif area of Rahim Yar Khan district of Pakistan's Punjab province. In videos that surfaced on social media, dozens of people can be seen breaking the windows, doors and idols of the temple with sticks, stones and bricks.
Hindu temple attacked in Pakistan
According to details, a Hindu temple was targeted in Bhong area of Rahim Yar Khan. Miscreants smashed temple windows and doors and desecrated sacred images. At the same time, the miscreants broadcast their action live on Facebook. The video, broadcast live on social media, shows dozens of people entering the temple with traditional religious slogans, as well as vandalizing them with stones, sticks and poles.

Police say the altercation began a few days ago when a local Hindu boy was accused of allegedly desecrating a madrassa, according to the Associated Press. According to the AP, local police officer Asif Raza said that locals had blocked the road before the attack on Wednesday. According to police, the reason was the decision of a local court in which an 8-year-old Hindu boy was released on bail on charges of desecrating a madrassa.
According to the AP, the boy was arrested for urinating on the carpet of a local madrassa library. The mob demanded that the child be prosecuted under blasphemy laws. Police officer Asif Raza told the AP that the army had been called in to arrest the attackers and the situation was now under control.
Rangers called to control the situation
Kapil Dev, a user who shared a video of the attack on the temple on social media, echoed the words of a speech by Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan, asking, "Are we really free to visit our temples?" "Look at the daytime attack on a Hindu temple," he said. "Another bad day for Hindus when miscreants attacked the Hindu Ganesh Temple in Bhong, Rahim Yar Khan's city, and posted it live on Facebook," he wrote.
Dr. Shahbaz Gul, Special Adviser to the Prime Minister of Pakistan, wrote in a tweet that this is a tragic incident. The Prime Minister has taken notice of this unfortunate incident and directed the district administration to investigate the case and punish the culprits. He wrote that the Pakistani constitution guarantees freedom of worship to minorities in their places of worship.

Police and Rangers have been called in to control the situation in the area, according to newspaper reports. Punjab Chief Minister's Digital Media Focal Person Azhar Mashwani said in a tweet that DPO Rahim Yar Khan himself reached the area immediately and according to him, immediate action would be taken against all those involved.
