In a shocking incident, a shopkeeper was beheaded by two men in Udaipur, Rajasthan for supporting Nupur Sharma's remarks. The murder was recorded on camera and the video went viral.

Police have identified the victim tailor as Kanhaiya Lal. Both the accused have also been arrested by the police from Bhima in the Rajsamand district. Both have been identified as Mohammad Riaz and Ghaus Mohammad. Both are admitting to beheading Kanhaiya Lal in a video. He has also threatened to kill PM Modi in this video.

In The viral video surfaced on social media showing two men entering a tailor's shop in Udaipur and attacking them with knives. In a separate video posted by the two men, both can be heard admitting to the murder and threatening PM Narendra Modi.

In the third video, recorded on June 17, which surfaced soon after the murder on Tuesday, one of the two men is heard describing their intentions to act similar to what happened in Udaipur on Tuesday.

According to police, Lal had earlier claimed that his son had "accidentally" posted "objectionable remarks" on Facebook while playing the game on his phone. He also claimed that he had no idea about the post until some local residents questioned him.

“This murder has been done for religious reasons, in the name of religion. A senior central government official said, the NIA will find out if there is any militancy angle and will provide whatever assistance is required to the state police. The NIA can take up such cases only after the enforcement of laws relating to terrorism, or laws relating to other crimes, as mentioned in its programme.

As the tension escalated, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot appealed for peace. Gehlot said, "I condemn the heinous murder of the youth in Udaipur. Strict action will be taken against all the culprits involved in this incident and the police will go to the bottom of the crime. I appeal to all the parties to maintain peace."

Protests are taking place in Udaipur after this murder. The Union Home Ministry has sent a team from the National Investigation Agency regarding this matter. The case is also being investigated from the angle of terrorism.

According to Rajasthan Police, Kanhaiya Lal had claimed that his son had posted an objectionable post on Facebook by mistake.

Rajasthan ADG Hawa Singh Ghumaria said that 600 additional police forces have been deployed on the spot. Hawa Singh said that an alert has been issued in the entire state. Along with this, prohibitory orders under section 144 have been imposed in all the districts of the state. Curfew has been imposed in seven police station areas of the Udaipur district.

News agency PTI quoted Rajsamand Superintendent of Police Sudhir Chaudhary as saying that both the accused were trying to escape on a motorcycle. He was wearing a helmet to cover his face.

Sudhir Chaudhary said that the accused have been identified. One of the assailants, who was identified as Riyaz, attacked Kanhaiya Lal with a sharp-edged weapon while the other recorded the crime on his mobile phone, he said. Udaipur District Magistrate Tarachand Meena has appealed to the public to maintain peace.

According to news agency ANI, arson and protests have started in some areas of Udaipur after the murder. Udaipur SP Manoj Kumar said in a conversation with the media, "This is a brutal murder. Some accused have been identified, police teams are searching for the accused. Strict action will be taken against the culprits.
