Ground Report | New Delhi: Helpline for Gujarat pilgrims; Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel had a telephonic conversation with Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and talked about the necessary assistance to Gujarati pilgrims who were on their journey to Badrinath and were stranded there due to excessive rains in Uttarakhand.

The CMO wrote on a Twitter account in Gujarati and gave information, 'The helpline numbers of the Emergency Operation Center of the Government of Gujarat have been announced on the instructions of the CM so that the pilgrims of Gujarat stranded there can be contacted and other information can be obtained. The helpline number is 079- 23251900.

At least 100 people were trapped in the Lemon Tree Resort located on the Ramnagar-Ranikhet road and efforts are on to rescue them, reported ANI. The Kosi river water entered the resort after the river overflowed and blocked the road.

The damage caused by the rains is being assessed, Dhami said, adding that farmers have suffered a lot due to incessant rains. He also said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had spoken to him over the phone to take stock of the situation and assured him of all possible help.

The Mall Road in Nainital and the Naina Devi temple on the banks of the Naini lake have been flooded, while a hostel building has been damaged due to landslides. A report from Nainital said that the district administration is doing its best to help the tourists stranded in the city, with police being deployed to warn the incoming and outgoing traffic.

Uttarakhand Tourism Department wrote, "There is heavy rain in many areas of Uttarakhand. Because of this Shri Badrinath Dham Yatra has been stopped for some time. Snowfall and moderate to strong thunderstorms in the upper reaches of the state. There is also a possibility of lightning and hail in some areas.
