Ground Report | New Delhi: Harsh Vardhan resign; The cabinet reshuffle of PM Narendra Modi is going to be expanded today and before that many old ministers are also going away. Labour Minister Santosh Gangwar has resigned from his post.

The round of resignations has started before the cabinet expansion to be held this evening. Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan, Education Minister Ramesh Nishank Pokhriyal, Labour Minister Santosh Gangwar, Chemicals and Fertilizers Minister Sandananda Gowda, Minister of State for Education Sanjay Dhotre, Minister of State for Animal Husbandry Pratap Sarangi, and Minister of State for Jal Shakti, Ratanlal Kataria have resigned from the ministerial posts.

Earlier, the stir has intensified at the residence of PM Narendra Modi at 7 Lok Kalyan Marg, BJP National President JP Nadda has also reached the Prime Minister's residence for a meeting before the cabinet expansion. A very important meeting is going on at the Prime Minister's residence on the issue of cabinet expansion.

43 ministers will take oath today

Madhya Pradesh Rajya Sabha MP Jyotiraditya Scindia, former Assam Chief Minister Sabarnand Sonowal, former Maharashtra Chief Minister Narayan Rane, Uttar Pradesh's regional Dal Apna Dal chief Anupriya Patel are reported to have arrived at the Prime Minister's residence.

BJP sources say that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold a meeting with the new ministers at his residence before the cabinet expansion to be held at Rashtrapati Bhavan from 6 o'clock. This time the number of women ministers in the Modi government may increase. Apart from Anupriya Patel, the names of Delhi MP Meenakshi Lekhi, Haryana MP Sunita Duggal, and Karnataka MP Shobha Karandlaje are also in the running.

Before the expansion of the cabinet, on Tuesday, the central government had formed a ministry. With the vision of 'Sahakar Se Prosperity', the Government has constituted the Ministry of Co-operatives. This ministry will work to provide a separate administrative, legal, policy framework to strengthen the cooperative movement.

An announcement was made by the Finance Minister regarding a separate cooperative ministry in the budget. This ministry will help the cooperatives to reach the grassroots level.
