Govardhan Puja held at a place provided for prayers in Gurgaon

Blocking roads cannot be part of one's religion. It is a way to stop and disrupt the economy of the country. People have the first right on roads and public places. If we Hindus start worshiping in the open then these places will be closed for the whole week. I want to congratulate those who fought for this freedom, who fought to protect these constitutional rights. This is the real fight for freedom. Not the one for whom freedom slogans are raised.

Meanwhile, the local Muslim community said that prayers were not held in three places - Sector 12, Sector 47, and Sector 18, while in other public places the prayers were held peacefully.

Asaduddin Owaisi tweeted, "The protest against Friday prayers in Gurugram is a perfect example of how radical these "protesters" have become. This is an 'act of hatred' directed towards Muslims. How is offering Namaz for 15-20 minutes once a week going to hurt anyone in any way?" (Govardhan Puja in Gurgaon)

Govardhan Puja was organized in Gurugram on Friday. It was held in the same public park in Sector-12 where Friday prayers are usually offered by Muslims. The police had secured the park during the program. BJP leader Kapil Mishra, who was a part of the event, said that public roads are not the right place for such an event.

The Gurugram Police had earlier held a meeting with both the parties to offer prayers and worship at the same place. Police forces were also on high alert when both Hindus and Muslims were offering Namaz. According to police officials, everything was done peacefully and no adverse incident was reported."

Three years ago, the district administration designated 37 sites in the city for Muslims to offer Friday prayers, which was followed by protests by some Hindu groups. A few months ago, a group started protesting against offering prayers in the open, following which protests have been taking place on Fridays for the past month.
