Cyclone Mocha is a powerful tropical cyclone that formed in the northern Indian Ocean in May 2023. It originated from an area of low pressure that was first noted by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on May 8. Over the next few days, the system gradually intensified and was classified as a cyclonic storm on May 12.
