Climate change refers to any change in climate over time, due to natural variability of the climate system or as a result of human activities. Both causes are related to the greenhouse effect, which acts by trapping heat and warming the planet. It can be estimated by measuring the variations of some statistical properties, such as the average of some variables over time (for example, precipitation, air temperature, sea temperature, sea level, etc).
