Kashmir was once a 100 percent Hindu state says advisor Farooq Khan

Farooq Khan, Advisor to the Lieutenant Governor (LG) in Jammu and Kashmir claimed that Kashmir was once a 100 percent Hindu state. At the 'India Idea' conclave in Gujarat, Farooq Khan said on Saturday that our first goal is to bring back with full respect all those Kashmiri Pandit siblings who left the valley due to fear.

Speaking at the India Ideas Conclave 2020, Khan said that the first and foremost goal for us is that all our Kashmiri Pandit brothers and sisters had to leave the state under gun threat. We will bring him back with full respect and he will be able to live a happy life in Kashmir without any fear and danger.

Farooq Khan said that very few people knew that Kashmir was once a 100 percent Hindu state. Those who go there must go to Kashmir Museum. This will give you a clear picture of the history of ancient Kashmir. He said, "Our goal is to bring back with full respect to all our Kashmiri Pandit siblings who left the valley due to fear."

Farooq Khan started his career in Jammu and Kashmir as a sub-inspector in the year 1984. After this, he served as an Inspector General of Police. It was only last year that he took over as advisor to the then Governor Satya Pal Malik. In 2014, he joined BJP.

On the other hand, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Girish Chandra Murmu said on Saturday that there will be no loss of jobs and land due to the abolition of Article 370. Murmu said during an interaction with various representatives of urban local bodies and panchayati state institutions in Kathua district that the abolition of Article 370 would not cause any loss of jobs and land. He said that basic amenities like water, electricity and roads would be provided to every house in remote and border areas.

Meanwhile a delegation of women sarpanches also met the Lieutenant Governor and apprised them of the issues in their areas. Murmu reiterated the government's commitment to the implementation of the 74th Constitutional Amendment, stating that it will not only strengthen governance at the local level but will also speed up development works. He said that governance can be strengthened at the local level only with the participation and cooperation of elected representatives. It is noteworthy that the Central Government abolished most of the provisions of Article 370 giving special status to Jammu and Kashmir on August 5 last year.
