Farooq Abdullah said on Taliban: Hope they run a good government

Ground Report | New Delhi: Farooq Abdullah said on Taliban; Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah has said that he hopes that they will respect human rights on the Taliban occupation in Afghanistan.

On Afghanistan, he said, “it is a separate country. Those who have come there have to look after the country.” He added: “I am hopeful that they will do justice with one and all and run a good country in keeping in view human rights and tenets of Islam. I will add that they should develop friendly ties with all countries.”

Abdullah said, "Afghanistan is a different country. Now those who have come there have to handle that country. I hope they will do justice to all and run a good government in which they will take care of human rights and run on Islamic principles."

“As far as statehood and restoration of Article 370 and 35A is concerned, we are resolute and there is crack. Ishallah one day we will successful take it back,” he added.

On the matter of elections and restoration of special status in Jammu and Kashmir, National Conference Party President Farooq Abdullah has said that his party is committed to restoring special status to Jammu and Kashmir, but whenever this union territory If elections are held in the state, then his party will stand in the elections.

Farooq Abdullah said this to reporters on the occasion of the 39th death anniversary of his father Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah, the founder of the National Conference in Naseem Bagh, Jammu, and Kashmir.

The BJP-led central government on August 5, 2019, abrogated Article 370 of the Constitution and bifurcated Jammu and Kashmir into two union territories. Jammu and Kashmir had special status under Article 370.

Farooq Abdullah said that the National Conference is committed to the struggle to restore the special status of Jammu and Kashmir. "We don't know when the elections will be held, but we are very clear that whenever elections are held in Jammu and Kashmir, we will contest," he said.
